Top 10 Favourite Anime Guys

First of all, I would like to say that this is exciting! I’ve been wanting to do a Top 10 post for a while. This post was hard to make as I have so many favourites. I managed to narrow it down though. Anyway on to my list:

10: Okabe Rintarou from Stein’s Gate.

Stein's Gate 4

Okabe was quite the character in Stein’s Gate. He was a character who cared about others despite his melodramatic personality. I always liked his personality and once I found out why he acts the way he does, I has so much more respect for his character. His interactions with Mayuri, Kurisu and many other characters in the show were hilarious as he calls them a bunch of different names.

His character to me was even better one I found out that Okabe’s voice actor is Mamoru Miyanao, the voice of Yagami Light from Death Note and Ling Yao from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. If you’ve seen those show then you know how great this guy is. He has quite the range. Okabe’s funny personality is what earned him a spot on this list. 😀

9: Yagami Light from Death Note

Yagami Light

Yagami Light was an interesting character.  To bring justice to the rotten people in his rotten world was one of his goals. One of the best strategists I have ever seen in anime. His personality was messed up but that didn’t stop people from loving him including myself. I wanted to hate his character but I couldn’t as the way he would go around to achieve his goals was amazing to me.

Manipulation and Murder were his best friends in this show. He had a simple character design that somehow has made him stand out from other anime characters funnily enough. He is a guy that shows no mercy to anyone and that’s why I like him.

8: Armin Arlert from Attack on Titan

Attack 19.PNG

What can I say about Armin. He started off as a weak character but as the episodes went him, I quickly found out that his intelligence is what makes him special. He’s an important soldier who comes up with interesting ideas to fight the titans. I love his character design because he has the face of an innocent character. To me that is something that is rare in the Attack on Titan world. Innocence.

That’s what made me like him and the fact that he cares about his friends. Kindness is another human trait that is rare as well. Armin is also a coward but he shrugs that off and put himself in danger to help his friends. If you didn’t already know, Armin is voice by a girl. Yes, a girl. Marina Inoue is her name. She also voices Yaoyorozu Momo from My Hero Academia. You know, to me Armin has proved himself time and time again that he is an important character in Attack on Titan.

7:  Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

FullMetal Alchemist 3.PNG

I love this little hot head (don’t tell him I called him little!) because he’s a guy that pushes himself to his highest potential. He has such a caring heart even though he has a metal arm and leg , he doesn’t really let that get to him much. Edward has had a rough past and he carries the mistakes of the past with him throughout the show.

He wants to make sure that he and his brother Alphonse get their bodies back as he blames himself because of what happened in the past. I like the guy because his relationship with his brother throughout the show is heartwarming. His interactions with other characters range from funny to suspicious especially his interactions with some of the adults in the show. Edward is a lovable character who does his best to make the people close to him happy.

6: Ootori Kyouya from Ouran High School Host Club

Ootori Kyouya.PNG

The guy is the vice president of Ouran High School Host Club. According to Tamaki (Blonde Guy) in the High School Host Club, Ootori’s role is to be the mommy of the group. I’m surprised that Ootori never snaps at Tamaki for his comment. Ootori is a strict guy who everyone in the group loves. He is one this list because he is a calm cool guy who is also levelheaded. His interaction with his fellow members in the club are great as well.

5: Monkey D Luffy from One Piece

Luffy.PNG

Luffy is a typical Shounen male lead but that doesn’t stop him from being a funny character in my eyes. He loves to eat a lot of food which is normal for a Shounen character and he cares about his friends and will go to great lengths to keep them safe. He a fun character to watch fight against fellow pirates. Luffy’s goal is to find the One Piece the greatest treasure left behind by another pirate, Gol D Roger.

Luffy is a rubber man who can stretch his body to great lengths. I love the way he uses his gears as a way to fight. He invents these powers to enhance his Devil Fruit ability, his creative ways of using them makes me like him as a character. He would have been higher up this list if not for some other characters on here.

4: Lelouch Lamperouge from Code Geass

Code Geass 1.PNG

Lelouch was a character who had good intention at first but then became a hero who strayed from his original path. His desire throughout this show was to create a better world for his sister, Nunnally to live in. What made Lelouch an amazing character was his intelligence and his strategic side.

His interactions with Suzuka made for great conflict on his path for peace which happened but it cost him a lot. When Lelouch was Zero, he changed as he became entangled in his desire for revenge that I feel like he forgot what he was fighting for at times. I liked that Lelouch had to balance his school life with his life as Zero it made for some great tension among his followers and friends. You have to admit the Geass is an awesome power.

3: Gilgamesh from Fate Zero

FZ 26

Gilgamesh was a badass character in this show. This guy isn’t the main character at all but he was able to shine so brightly in this show. Gilgamesh was arrogant and cocky who did not care about anyone. He wanted the Holy Grail for himself. Take his interactions with Saber for example. He asks her to marry him, she says no and what does he say.

He was ordering her not asking. This is the type of guy that he is, this isn’t all that surprising when you look at his powers in this show. If you know his back story then you will understand why he is the way he is. I would love to see him again in future shows as he was an amazing character as you can see since he is number 3 on this list.

2: Usui Takumi from Kaichou wa Maid Sama

Usui Takumi.jpg

This guy  may look cold at times but he is a sweet and caring character especially to Misaki. He is a popular among the girls in his school and other schools. He has a way of talking that’s appealing. He was funny in this show, my favourite scene was the one where Misaki is drunk.

His voice actor did a great job portraying this smart and handsome character. His attitude and interactions in this show was funny, especially when it came to Hinata. When those two interacted it was always hilarious.

1: Sakata Gintoki from Gintama.

Sakata Gintoki

I love, love, love this character. Gintoki is a very lazy guy who has a love of sweet things. His treatment of his friends and enemies is always funny. The gags he takes part in are great, especially when it come to references from different games and TV shows. What makes my favourite and at the top of this list is that Gintoki is a samurai who lives in the Edo Period in Japan. He carries a wooden sword with him that can give him enemies a serious fight.

Gintoki likes to joke a lot but deep inside he carries a dark back story. If you’ve seen the show then you know what I mean. He has an incredibly caring side when it comes to his friends and strangers. He runs a business along side Shinpachi and Kagura (who are great characters as well), the three of them go out and help strangers with anything, and I mean anything. I forgot to mention that Gintoki loves to pick his nose and rub it on people’s heads (Kagura).
